I like to have 2 drum sets when I give lessons. One of my new students was in need of a drum set. I couldn't find a used kit for them so I purchased this mid-level (Gretsch Energy) kit, kept my upgraded cymbals, and sold my Tama Swingstar kit with the Gretsch Energy kit cymbals to my student. Below is a look at the kit as it stands after selling the Tama kit. When I ordered the kit, it was selling at $750 but my guy at Musician's Friend got it for me for $622. While I was waiting for the kit to arrive, I saw it at Guitar Center for $540. I called up my guy at Musician's Friend, sent him a photo of the price of the kit in the store (because it was a local store price, not a web price), and he matched it.
