Spare Ribs by Grandma (Karen) Oller

Ingredients

• Pork spare ribs
• Water
• course black pepper
• salt
• thyme
• garlic powder
• Barbecue sauce

Directions

• Allow 1lb. or ribs per person.
• Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
• Place raw ribs in a baking pan or roaster pan.
• Place 1/2-1 c. water in the bottom of the pan.
• Season to taste.
• Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
• Lower temperature to 300 degrees.
• Brush your favorite sauce on the ribs.
• Tent aluminum foil over the ribs to retain moisture.
• Return to oven for about 2 hours or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
• Remove ribs from the oven. Remove foil.
• Finish off (brown) by placing on the grill or place under broiler in oven until nicely browned.
• Brush on more sauce and serve.
