Lemon Sugar Star Cookies by Great Grandma (Lydia) Tibbles

Ingredients

• 4 1/2 c. Flour
• 1 tsp. Baking soda
• 1 c. Oleo (butter or margarine)
• 2 c. Sugar
• 3 eggs
• Grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
• 1 tbsp. Milk

Notes

Grandma Oller remembers her mom making these cookies.
You can brush with beaten egg and sprinkle colored sugar or ice them.

Yields

8 dozen small

Directions

• Mix flour and baking soda, set aside.
• Cream oleo and sugar in a separate bowl.
• Add eggs, rind, juice and sugar; beat.
• Add dry ingredients and stir in milk.
• Chill in covered bowl in refrigerator over night.
• Knead small balls at a time; roll out on flour and cut.
• Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 for 12 minutes.
