Cornbread Dressing by Grandma (Nelda) Hopkins and Mama (Ovie Mae) Wilson

Ingredients

1 can biscuits - cooked (6-8) and crumbled
1 pan cornbread - cooked in a cast iron skillet and crumbled (use recipe on corn meal package)
1 egg
1 small onion
Salt, pepper and sage to taste
Broth

Notes

Grandma remembers that her mother cooked all the time, but never used recipes that were written down. This is Grandma's recipe, but is based on Mama Wilson's.

Directions

Cook giblets in large pan of water for about an hour to make broth.
Mix all other ingredients and add broth until desired consistency.
Put Crisco or oil in cast iron skillet and heat on stovetop.
Pour dressing into heated skillet and bake at 450 for 1/2 hour or until brown.
