Miami Site Evaluation
Miami's home page
http://www.miamioh.edu/
- Sign in: No
- Target: Parents, current students, future students, alumni, visitors
- What do you like about it: consistent aesthetics, color scheme
- What could be better: too busy, moving picture is OK - would prefer removing it, 2 columns (too busy)
- What is bad: hideous random plaid
- Describe the design: Tons of info
- Devices: all
News story - linked from the home page
http://miamioh.edu/news/top-stories/2015/10/rogero-passive-house.html
- Sign in: No
- Target: Parents, current students, future students, alumni, visitors
- What do you like about it: more simple than the home page, less busy - 4 pictures in the article spaced so you only see 1 at a time, consistent color scheme as the home page
- What could be better: doesn't have a "newspaper/news site" type feel
- What is bad: tool bar on the left is distracting, even though it's less busy than the home page, it's still too busy
- Describe the design: Primarily the article with other links
- Devices: all
Top stories - linked from the architecture news article
http://miamioh.edu/news/top-stories/index.html
- Sign in: No
- Target: Parents, current students, future students, alumni, visitors
- What do you like about it: very clearly lists the top stories
- What could be better: too wordy - don't start the article, just have the title; show more than 9 articles at once; different color background
- What is bad:
- Describe the design: articles
- Devices: all
